Happy Hunger Games! — 14 Comments

  1. Favorite book is still The Westing Game, and the movie version (called Get a Clue) is so bad that it’s painful to even say that it’s an adaptation. Break a leg tonight . . . sadly, it’s dinner out with two friends I rarely get to see (PS – Dave said it was nice to put a name with a face).

  2. My favorite book is Harry potter and the order of the Phoenix cuz its awesome! The movie not so much πŸ™ Don’t think I have a favorite movie I like too many

  3. I followed you on twitter @darrelsuarez, and liked you on Facebook also @Darrel Suarez. My favorite book and movie would honestly be The hunger Games. I know this is cliche but it was an awesome book. I feel that both the book and the movie were great, but the book was better. The movie would’ve been better if they put a voice over of what katniss was thinking while she was in the games.

  4. Hi! Wow! This is such a cool contest! First off, my favorite book is, Catching Fire, the sequel to The Hunger Games. It is filled with so much action and so many thrilling surprises. It will keep you hooked, from the first page. Thankfully, just like its predecessor, it’s going to be adapted into a film version in 2013. Secondly, you are an inspiration to me! A teacher and a chef? How cool! I am currently a sophomore in college, pursuing a degree in elem. education. I also love to cook πŸ˜‰ I followed you on Twitter, too. (@TaraKeely93) Thanks for this awesome opportunity!

  5. I followed you on twitter @hannahwasser, and on Facebook @Hannah Lauterwasser, my favorite book is all of The Mortal Instruments books. They are in the process if making the first book into a movie and I have honestly super excited for it to come out next year! And my favorite movie is either THG or Bridge to Terabithia. I have watched it four times and have cried every time πŸ™‚

  6. My favorite book/movie BY FAR would be the Hunger Games!!! I have read the series many times and I personally like the books better because you understand it from Katniss’ view so you know how shes feeling and it just gets more into depth!

  7. YEA!!! Congrats on blogging for two years!! Great job on that. πŸ™‚ can’t wait to see what’s in store!

  8. following you on Facebook and twitter (@j_rein)

At present, my favorite book is still 1984. The movie adaptation was alright but to me it isn’t as powerful as the book.

I LOVED the Hunger Games book. I thought the movie adaptation was good but there were some important details left out (like the District 11 bread gift and the real source of the Mockingjay pin – not some vendor in the Hob.) Otherwise, it was well done and I very much enjoyed the movie.

I think my next theme party will either be the Hunger Games or if it is potluck, have people pick out their favorite movie food. I want to make the lamb stew like crazy πŸ™‚

  9. My favorite book is Where the Red Fern Grows. Whenever someone doesn’t understand the powerful relationship between a human and their dogs, I tell them to read this book. I have two copies of it, both dog-earred (pun intended) from being read all the time (and I always cry at the end).

(P.S. The lamb stew is next up on my wish list of dishes to make…once I have a free weekend)

  10. My favorite book is “Walk Two Moons” by Sharon Creech. It is the novel that made me love reading. My favorite movie is “Steel Magnolias.” it makes me cry every time! And….. I always follow you on Facebook πŸ˜‰

  11. Wow – thank you all for entering AND for your A+ responses…. I loved hearing about everyone’s favorite books and movies (as well as why)!

Congratulations to Tara Warren for winning this book – may the Odds Ever be in Her Favor and may she become a successful teacher to continue to inspire young minds to read and enjoy books as much as you all do!

  12. Congrats on your two year blogiversary! And nice to know someone other than me has the Hunger Games Cookbook πŸ™‚
