GREEN Breakfast Fruit Smoothie

If I wanted to go on a liquid diet – smoothies would be the way to go! You can get all the nutrients you need in a smoothie, there is little waste, they can be made in a HUGE variety of flavors, and you can change it up in so many ways.

This Green Smoothie was one of the ones I whipped up this week – feel free to play around with what you put in there, one of my favorite decadent/healthy green shakes has some Peanut Butter in it! This one here is totally raw and vegetarian and even vegan if you use a non-dairy milk!

How pretty does this Smoothie look on this tray here!? I would not complain if the hubby brought up this for breakfast in bed – no crumbs or mess to worry about, and you feel even more ready to get up and start your day with all the healthy stuff loaded in here. If you are looking for more protein, add some powder or feel free to throw in any other supplements you like in your smoothies. This is sweet enough to have for a dessert but works perfect any time of day – fills you up and re energizes you for sure!

GREEN Breakfast Fruit Smoothie

Ingredients
  • 1 banana
  • 1 apple
  • 1 pear
  • ½ to 1 cup milk (I used almond)
  • 1 cup (packed) spinach (I used a little more than ½ of a 6oz bag)
Instructions
  1. Layer your ingredients into your high quality blender. Be sure to start with some liquid and the softest ingredients (banana) so they will get everything going. If you have a blender with a stick/plunger you may need to mix it up with that to get it moving.
  2. Process until smooth. Taste, then pour into glasses.

I LOVE our Vitamix Professional Series 300- Onyx">Vitamix Blender & highly suggest you invest in a good piece of equipment like this if you plan to get some mileage out of a blender!!

  1. I really want to try this! Maybe I will buy the ingredients today and give it a whirl! Your photography is very artistic and motivates me to try this. Also, I followed the links to the other smoothie and the salad (which I know I read before), and they are tempting me, too! I guess it is all part of the “let’s try to eat healthier” attitude of the New Year!

    • Go for it!! Stepping out of your comfort zone to more healthy foods is a big step, but I am sure you will enjoy both those recipes, be sure to let us know what you think!!
